Once again, this year, EPA will be recognizing National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (October 23-29, 2016). The Week’s theme, "Lead-Free Kids for a Healthy Future," highlights ways parents can reduce a child's exposure to lead and prevent its serious health effects. Historically, the Week’s primary focus has been on lead-based paint, but this year, there will be expanded messaging that encourages the public to “Learn about Drinking Water”.
We encourage everyone to visit EPA's website to learn more about what you can do during this week to raise awareness about lead. Some activities could include:
· Posting the LPPW web banner on your website
· Handing out or displaying your customized flyer or a poster
· Tweeting about the week using #LPPW2016
· Adding LPPW information to your next newsletter
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Christina Wadlington at (202) 566-1859 or at wadlington.christina@epa.gov.
Join us during this week and please help us SPREAD THE WORD!
