DEC has made up to $500,000 available for communities to purchase and install detection, monitoring and reporting devices on Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) to fulfill reporting requirements of the Sewage Pollution Right to Know (SPRTK) Law. Communities with CSO outfalls must notify the public of combined sewer overflows during wet weather events. This grant program provides funds for municipalities to purchase and install different types or levels of CSO detection and notification. Grants awarded through the SPRTK program can fund up to 90% of the total project cost. Eligible applicants can apply for SPRTK funding through the Grants Gateway (link leaves DEC's website.) For more detail, please see the SPRTK Program Overview.
