Re: COVID– 19 Virus
As an abundance of caution, we have decided to postpone (8) recertification training sessions scheduled between March 18, 2020, and April 28, 2020. Our decision was based on two factors: 1) A new CDC recommendation limiting the size of social gatherings to 50 or less for an (8) week period beginning March 16, 2020, and 2) To do our part to maintain operational continuity. Water & wastewater system operators, especially those of small rural communities, are a public health necessity, especially at this time. We want to mitigate the exposure these certified operators may have to the virus, preventing them from illness or quarantine. We will reschedule all training sessions once this situation has been cleared. The following sessions will be cancelled:
1) 3/18/2020 Basic Electricity Canton
2) 3/24/2020 Laboratory Watertown
3) 4/8/2020 Valves, Hydrants & Meters Waterloo
4) 4/8/2020 Sustainable Management Warsaw
5) 4/16/2020 Water Fluoridation Maybrook
6) 4/22/2020 Laboratory Lake Placid
7) 4/23/2020 Laboratory Lake George
8) 4/28/2020 Laboratory Cuba
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you are in urgent need of recertification hours we recommend reaching out to your local health or regional DEC office, or you may consider our pre-approved web-based courses through Suncoast Learning: https://nyruralwater.org/training/online-training.
Our first concern will always be your health and safety, we appreciate your patience and consideration as we navigate all the information and try our best to meet the needs of our system and associate members.
Sincerely,
Jamie Herman, CEO
