As most of you already know, PFOA & PFOS and Dioxane has had a serious impact on many drinking water systems in New York. These same contaminants have recently caught the attention of the DEC. They are starting to focus on PFOA, PFOS and Dioxane levels in our effluent and receiving waters. Sources may include but are not limited to; landfill supernatant and drinking water.
These are forever chemicals – most wastewater treatment plants are unable to filter or sequester these contaminants.
