Recognition for an Amazing and Selfless Act

Terri Brubaker, clerk/treasurer for the Village of Mayfield, was honored by Senator Tedisco for returning $8000 she found to the widow of a victim of this past fall's limousine tragedy in Schoharie County. Please thank Terri for showing us humanity and integrity still exist. Well done Terri and thank you.

Notice: Training Fee Modification

After a great deal of consideration, the New York Rural Water Association has elected to begin charging a “Non-Member Materials Fee” for all of our training that is not provided free of charge.

It is that time of the year again, time to apply for our scholarship program. As many of you know, each year the NYRWA distributes one-time grants to five students across New York State valued at $500.00 to help defray the cost of tuition, books, or room and board at an accredited institution of higher learning approved by the NYRWA.

On January 4th, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York State Department of Health, in consultation with the departments of State and Agriculture and Markets, announced the creation of a statewide program to help municipalities develop and implement protection plans for their drinking water sources.  This program, entitled the Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), will initially involve the state partnering with up to 30 municipalities to update drinking
